Which political party is responsible for the current economic crisis?

Not just both political parties, but pretty much every political party and everyone else in the world.

I don't understand why we don't hear more from economists with regards to this question (and the question of what should be done). I know what the different parties (and factions within them) think we should do, but I don't know what even the economics professors at my own school recommend.
